We will bill you the final amount 60 days before the workshop start date.
Valley of Fire State Park offers the best sandstone in the Southwest and is only an hour drive from the heart of Sin City, Las Vegas, NV. This workshop will include tons of field sessions in some of the most colorful and bizarre desert locations in the Southwest. With two instructors, Joseph Rossbach and Ian Plant, you will receive ample one-on-one instruction in the field as well as spirited critiques and post processing training at night or in the middle of the day.

In addition to shooting the many out of this world landscapes of Valley of Fire, we have also scheduled a trip to little known of and rarely visited Whitney Pocket, about an hours drive from Valley of Fire. Our base camp of discovery will be Overton, Nevada just 15 minutes outside the park. Each day we will be up well before sunrise to catch the first rays of golden light striking the landscape then move into tighter canons to shoot bounce and reflected light. In the afternoons we'll stay in the field until after sunset and shoot star trails at night.

Highlights include
bizarre and colorful sandstone, classic desert southwest landscapes, canyon photography, star trail photography, digital darkroom training, image critiques and tons of inspiration.

Weather:
Pleasant days followed by cool to cold nights. Average daytime highs are in the low to mid 60's and nights are in the mid to upper 30's.

Directions to the Park from Las Vegas

From Las Vegas, drive north on Interstate 15 approximately 35 miles to State Route 169. The cut-off is well marked. There is a Paiute Indian Reservation Tobacco Shop and small casino at that exit. It is a great place to make a pit stop before you go on to Valley of Fire. Drive east on Route 169 for approximately 15 miles. This takes you to the west entrance of the Valley Of Fire. The drive through is about 10 miles in length and take you to route 167, the North Shore road.
